In this blog, I will write about international night event held on 2nd November. This event was that we introduce our own culture, so we introduced origami, the traditional paper craft, and traditional cloth, yukata. This event was very beneficial experience for me. I was very happy that many people were interested on yukata, but explaining how to wear yukata or how to make a crane by origami. Also, in this event, I have to translate some words to teach Japanese culture because there are some unique custom in Japan. I think that I do not know about my own country through this activity. For example, one Taiwanese asked me about the origin of yukata, but I cannot answer this question because, actually, many young people wear yukata in a summer festival, but they might not consider about this origin. Also, when I taught how to make a crane to children, it was very difficult for me to teach this because I forgot almost all step of creating this complicated craft. In the past, I was used to make various sorts of paper craft. Recently, however, I have not had opportunities to do that. During this activity, I could learn other countries. I was very surprised that many countries have their own traditional costume. There were a lot of beautiful, gorgeous and unique clothes. Through this event, I want to learn about my own country and other countries more than before. I will never forget this experience.
